Do a famine at home
You can do a famine at home alone or with your friends and family. You can register a maximum of 10 persons for doing a famine at home. If the number of participants exceeds 10, please sign up as a famine group. You will receive a famine certificate as long as you complete a 12- or 30-hour famine.
Gentle reminder
- Parental consent must be obtained for participants under 18 years old.
- Drink plenty of water, such as mineral water or fruit juice, but avoid drinks that contain caffeine which causes dehydration.
- For the following people, please ask for doctor advice before participation: pregnant or breast-feeding women, people who recently had surgery, have a history of diabetes, gastric or duodenal ulcers, heart conditions or kidney complaints.
- When you finish the famine, ease your way back to normal eating by having something light and healthy.
- Participants of preschool age or under the 7th grade are not recommended to skip meals, but alternatively can do the famine by skipping snacks or beverage, and donate the money saved to the emergency relief cause.
